Dear Parents: As-Salamu Alaykum wa Rahmatu Allah wa Barakatuh
Al-Iman School of Iowa City Mosque welcomes you and your children.
We are happy that you chose our school, & our goal is to contribute effectively to enrich the knowledge of your children by teaching them from the sciences of Quran, Arabic Language & Islamic Studies, all of that in a fun disciplined heart-reassuring teaching environment.
Ages Accepted: From 5 years & 1 day to 13 years & 11 months.
School Days: In Fall/Spring semesters they are either Saturdays or Sundays according to the student’s level\class. In Summer semesters the school sessions are every other day, 3 days per week.
Registration, Start, & End Dates: Please see the 3-year calendar; (2018, 2019, 2020).
How to Register: When registration window is open, forms will be available in the registration station adjacent to the main hall. The parent/legal guardian will need to properly fill a form & put it along with the full amount of tuition fees inside a sealed envelope, then place the envelop inside the school’s “Donation” box.
Tuition Fees Starting Fall-20: $160 for one child, $320 for two siblings, $440 for three siblings, $560 for four siblings, $640 for five siblings, & 720 for six siblings. If the fees change, you will be notified in advance.
Any registration form that is not attached with the full amount of tuition fees will not be considered.
Payment Methods: You can pay tuition fees by either "Cash" or “Check”. In the case of payment by check, make the amount payable to: AL-IMAN CENTER
Any amount that is placed inside the school’s “Donation” box without being inside an envelope that has the registration form in it will be treated as donation and not as school’s tuition fees.
We currently rely on a method of self-registration; thus a parent can submit the envelope containing the complete form along with the tuition fees into the school “donations” box at any Iqama time. No school official is needed to complete the self-registration.
Number of admissions: Due to the limited school space, students are admitted as follows;
In Fall/Spring semesters, the first 100 students who complete their registration according to the school’s rules & principles get admitted. Then a specific number of the kids who complete their registration after the first hundred gets listed on a Wait-List.
In Summer semesters, the first 50 students who complete their registration according to the school’s rules & principles get admitted. Then a specific number of the kids who complete their registration after the first fifty gets listed on a Wait-List.
The Wait-List: Once the number of admissions reaches the specified maximum, any complete registration form - with full tuition-fees-payment attached to it - will be included in the wait list. & Wait-Listed students have to attend the initial assessments if they are new.
Wait-List Admissions: Admitting students from the Wait-List depends on factors such as their results and the availability of seats in each class, on first-come-first-serve basis.
Tuition fees of those who are not admitted will be returned during the first month of the semester at a date determined by the school.
The Initial Assessments Day
Each semester begins with the day of initial assessments as indicated in the school calendar. On this day, new students (admitted & waitlisted) are required to attend. A list showing “who should come at what time” will be emailed 48 hours prior to the initial assessments day.
Every student who is not enrolled in previous semester is considered new.
Failure to attend the initial assessments day for those who are required to attend it will entail an additional payment of $15 as a late fee, if time permits a make-up day for assessments.
Who Attends The First School Day/Weekend?
Students’ lists with classes shifts will be emailed 72 hours before the semester’s start day.
School Supplies: The School provides each student with a notebook, workbook, and folder. Parents are responsible of providing a backpack and other school tools.
Transportation/Lunch: Parents/Legal Guardians are responsible for providing their child(ren) with daily lunch meals and means of transportation from and to the school.
Dress: Modest dress shall be observed for both boys and girls.
Finally, we remind you that the school’s effort will not bear fruit except with your cooperation and your care for your child’s school performance.
