Project Expansion

In February, it was brought to the EPC's attention that the two buildings near the masjid have been put up for sale. This is an important investment for the community as it solidifies our position for future projects to accommodate our growing community.

The Project will comprise of four high level phases. Each phase contains multiple actions that need to be done to ensure its completion. Phase 1 is to fundraise $1 Million to position us to purchase the two buildings without competition. Please read more about this fundraising effort by looking at the brochure and flyer on the right.

​Phase Breakdown
Phase 1: Raise $1 Million (Target Not Met)

• Goal is for the money to be raised before the end of Ramadan
• Progress to goal to be provided at the end of the second week of Ramadan (03/22/2024)

Phase 2: Purchase the two buildings (ON HOLD)

• Goal is to purchase before the end of Summer
• Dependent on the funds being raised for purchase
• Leases must be honored of the current tenants till 2025

Phase 3: Approach the City with expansion plans (ON HOLD)

• Goal is to begin internal discussions once funds for purchase have been raised

Phase 4: Begin Expansion Effort (ON HOLD)

• This phase begins in parallel with Phase 3
• Dependent on Phase 3 starting

• ​Scan the QR code on the flyer
• Add the note "Expansion Project" to your donation for easy tracking of donations

Zelle

• Send money to "info@iowacitymosque.org"
• Add the note "Expansion Project" to your donation for easy tracking of donations

Cash / Check

• Use a white envelope near the donation box at the masjid to place the money in and then slot it in the donation box.
• Add "Expansion Project" to the memo of the check or the envelope itself to ensure it goes to the correct account
