A MESSAGE FROM THE IMAM, PRESIDENT OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE AND CHAIR OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Assalamo Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu Brothers & Sisters of the Al Iman Center of Iowa City Mosque 🕌
We are concerned about the safety of every community member and pray to Allah (SWT) to keep you all safe. We would like to provide you with an update on what actions the Al Iman Center of Iowa City Mosque Imam, Executive Committee and Board of Trustees have taken to safeguard our community members.
Cancelled all events and activities at the Mosque, including Friday prayers, all masjid programs (halaqas and lectures).
The Weekend School will be closed until further notice.
We have provided hand sanitizers by entrance of the Prayer Hall and ensured antibacterial soap is available in the wudu areas.
For now, we are continuing with our five daily prayers at the Mosque. However, we are practicing social distancing and limiting the number of people to 10 (per the Public Health Emergency Proclamation) effective today. We strongly encourage you to pray at home. For those who plan to attend the prayers in the masjid, we recommend bringing your own prayer rug to prevent the spread of disease. Come prepare to make the Salaat by making wudu and praying sunnah at home. Everyone should leave the masjid immediately after the Fardh Salaat.
Please protect yourself and others from the Coronavirus by:
Washing your hands frequently and thoroughly when you come to the Masjid.
Covering your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing with your elbow or a tissue and Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
Absolutely no handshaking, kissing, and hugging at the Masjid.
We shall try to Clean and Disinfect the frequently touched Surfaces and objects.
Stay home if you are sick and
Contact your healthcare providers if you have symptoms such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath.
As we mentioned earlier, community safety is our priority and we shall do everything in our ability to provide a safe environment for all of us
JazakumuAllahu Khairan WabarakAllahu feekum for your cooperation, patience and understanding.
